The 'Cayman Islands' City Racing Challenge 2010 is a brand new racing event for the City. Companies from across the City of London and Canary Wharf will compete on the water in state of the art Laser SB3s - in Cowes, the home of UK sailing. Chester Boyd, together with its partner, the Little Ship Club, are sponsoring this fantastic new opportunity with a launch event on 10 February 2010 at the Little Ship Club clubhouse, right on the River Thames by Southwark Bridge. The Little Ship Club, as well as being a yacht club, is a prime riverside location available for business and private functions.
We are delighted to sponsor this event in 2010, which has been developed by Pelican Racing. The launch takes place at a reception at the Little Ship Club in the City on 10 February at 6.30pm to 8.30pm. Pelican Racing will be explaining their plans for the event in more detail and encouraging sailors new and old to sign up. If you'd like to go to the reception please contact Sarah Rees at sarah.rees@intotheblue.biz
The event will consist of four divisions to be held on four separate weekends through the spring and summer in the Solent. Participants will be able to compete in a gold and silver final for all divisions in Cowes on 25 - 26 September. The four divisions will be industry based and are Insurance and Asset Management, Banking, Legal and IT. Pelican Racing will be supplying the Laser SB3s with full race and safety kit and a day's training as part of each divisional weekend.
This looks like a great networking opportunity as well as a fantastic way of testing your sailing skills, precision and teamwork and getting race experience in sportsboats. So get out of the rat race and blow off steam in this exciting and highly competitive sailing challenge.
