On Monday 10th November 2008, Chester Boyd had the great honour of catering for the Lord Mayor's Banquet at the Guildhall in the City of London.
Run on the same basis as the State Banquet the Lord Mayor's Banquet attracts the top City 'movers & shakers'. The guest of honour is the Prime Minister who makes a key note speech and is one of many top government officials who attend this event.
On the night Chester Boyd catered for over eight hundred people serving up a specially selected five course meal. With wines matched to each individual course. The menu included great British ingredients that included Castle of Mey Beef, Lemon Sole, Strathdon Blue Cheese and a fantastic home made London Sloe Gin and Tonic Sorbet.
This five course menu had to be delivered with speed and style, which we achieved with 28 chefs, 30 managers, 48 wine service staff, 90 food service staff and 20 back of house staff, all of whom went through rigorous security checks.
The whole event was a massive logistical challenge that ended in a hugely successful and enjoyable event for all involved!
